Two charged for attempted murder

A Swakopmund resident is fighting for his life after he was attacked with an axe on Saturday between 20:00 – 21:00 in DRC, Mondesa.
Matias Ngwena (28), sustained serious head injuries during the attack and had to be transferred from Swakopmund State hospital to Katutura State Hospital, Windhoek. According to police reports, Ngwena allegedly owed Angula Sakeus (46), cash to the amount of N$4 200 which he failed to pay back.
In retrospect the suspect allegedly went to the victim’s place and took a generator to keep it until his money was paid. However, when Ngwena went back to collect his generator an altercation occurred between the two resulting in the victim being struck in the head with the axe.
Sakues is charged with attempted murder and was set to appear at Swakopmund Magistrate Court yesterday. Police investigations continue
Meanwhile, another case of attempted murder was opened against Jonas Jacobs (21), after he allegedly stabbed one Jonas Nepando (40), with a knife in the back. Erongo Region Crimes Coordinator, Erastus Iikuyu confirmed the incident. It is believed to have been fueled by an argument at the informal Usab settlement in Karibib. The suspect was expected to appear before Karibib Magistrate Court yesterday.
