Two instantly killed after accident at Usakos

Two persons were killed during a horrific car accident on the B2 highway between Usakos and Arandis on Thursday morning. One of the deceased was identified as 28-year old Christopher Leroy Van Wyk. The second deceased is yet to be identified.
According to deputy commissioner Erastus Iikuyu, police regional crime investigations coordinator for Erongo, the two victims were travelling in a white City Golf (N 175694 W) from Usakos towards Arandis. It is alleged that about 20 kilometers from Usakos on a gentle curve in the road, the driver lost control of the vehicle resulting in the sedan colliding with an oncoming Nissan Note (NWB 1256 P). In the Nissan Note was one occupant, the driver Mr. Wilhelm Smith.
The force of the collision resulted in the two male occupants of the City Golf flung out of the vehicle. Both died on the spot. The driver of the Nissan Note sustained minor injuries.
∙The police confirmed a charge of culpable homicide is now investigated against the driver of a vehicle that was involved in an accident on the Swakopmund-Henties Bay road on 1 May this year. According to Iikuyu, one person passed away in hospital on Saturday after he was involved in a car accident on the road between Henties Bay and Swakopmund on that day.
