UniSocial Charity Organisation (UCO), an outreach program of the Universal Church assisting the community through charity projects, with assistance of the Mayor of Walvis Bay, Cllr Trevino Forbes, recently handed over food parcels donated by Multisave Walvis Bay Self Service to needy people of the Walvis Bay community.

Fifty food parcels consisting of pasta, canned food, Maize meal and other food items were handed out. Cllr Forbes applauded donators for their help in such difficult and challenging times. “The UniSocial Charity Organisation has done an amazing job. They have done their good work in Narraville and they have done some work in Kuisebmond. This organization is not only for one community, they have brought together different communities throughout Walvis Bay benefiting from these food parcels.” Said the Mayor. Elizabeth Muahafa, a volunteer of the UCO said,” The aim of this particular project was to extend a helping hand to the community. Those who were selected for the food hampers are unemployed and from disadvantaged homes.” UCO not only focuses on giving the community food items, they also focus on the spiritual and mental well-being of the people by providing them with counselling.
