Usakos first ever expo to kick off soon

The first ever Usakos Development Expo will be hosted from 6 to 9 December. The Expo, which is themed ‘Embracing Diversity towards Development’, is the first of its kind for the town and will strive to become an annual event.
The Usakos Development Expo is an initiative by the youth of Usakos and it is supported by the Usakos Town Council. The Expo will be held at the Hakhaseb Central Grounds at Usakos. says Manfred Naobeb the Chairperson of Usakos Development Expo.
He explained the Expo will serve as a platform to unite the community of Usakos and provide them with an opportunity to get together and showcase their products and services for sale.
Usakos is one of the towns which are left behind in terms of development and this expo is expected to attract investors to the small town, further explained Naobeb.
The event will kick off with the registration process and setting-up of stalls on Wednesday, 6 December at the Hakhaseb Central Grounds from 12:00-18:00. The Expo will be open to the public on Thursday from 07:00-22:00.
The official opening ceremony will be on Friday, 8 December, between 10:00 and 13:00 at the same venue. There will be a colour party and DJ clash that evening from 19:00 till late.
The Usakos Development Expo will also incorporate a Business Seminar Training Session which is scheduled for 18:00-22:00 on Saturday evening, a tree house lounge and music bash. So far, a total of 45 outdoor stalls have registered and 13-15 indoor stalls were registered. The organising committee also hosted a gala dinner on 2 December, which Naobeb said was very successful.
“People pledged support in their own personal capacities. There were people from the corporate world, government departments and private businesses who all made pledges. A total of N$12 000 was raised at the gala dinner for this year’s Expo and many people even made pledges for next year”, said Naobeb.
