Van der Schyff Gravel Grinder Champion

Walvis Bay Cyclist, Luanne van der Schyff, is the overall winner of the Women’s 80km Cycling Race in a time of 3:02:26 at the first edition of the Seaworks Gravel Grinder Race held at the Moonlight Resort.

About 250 cyclist and runners participated in three cycling distances for both men and women over 25 km, 50 km and 80 km and in the running distances for all over 5 km, 10 km and 21 km at the Seaworks Gravel Grinder MTB and Trail Run hosted by Cycles4U.
Van der Schyff said that it is great that new events are popping up in these times and that they are able to race again.
“It was a really nice and fast route and we had the perfect weather.”
The organisers will donate N$20.00 of every entry they received to the Seawork Cares Foundation that assists underprivileged children, in the rural areas of Namibia with a goal to provide a nutritious meal to children and adults in selected schools and soup kitchens.
The organisers thank Seawork, Swakop Electrical Supplies, FNB Swakopmund and Thovo Term for making it possible to host the event.
