Walvis Bay is turning into a dump

Eileen van der Schyff

Residents of Walvis Bay, especially those residing in the area of 7th road are disgusted about the state of a certain plot close to their houses. Residents neighboring this plot are fed up of the filth, stench and movement at night going on around their houses.

“We as a family we can’t sit at the braai area on my own property anymore, because the smell of human waste and urine coming from the property next door is too overwhelming. What is worse, my kitchen door is right next to the area where this smell comes from.” One of the neighbours told the Namib Times while pointing to his kitchen door and showing how close the property is to his.
Another resident said: “This is totally unacceptable and a health hazard. It is a hide away for criminals and a place for drug dealers and users to conduct their business. It is the responsibility of the owners of these plots to see that these things do not happen and to keep properties clean and in order”.
