Walvis Bay Pairs Golf Tournament

A large field of 50 golfers participated in the 2019 Walvis Bay Pairs golf tournament that was held over the past weekend at the Walvis Bay Golf course.
The competition consisted of 9 holes foursomes’ medal, 9 holes betterball medal and 9 holes combined medal was kindly sponsored by members Jason Barnard, Duane Saunders and Gunter Heitmann. .
After a long day with lots of ‘sorry partner’ being uttered, Piet van Niekerk and Herman Neethling emerged as the winners on 142.5 closely followed by playing opponents Kurt Brits and Andre Burger on 144.75.

Tomorrow and Sun-day sees the Walvis Bay Open, a NAGU event with a new sponsor, Iris Hotel & Boutique. A large field of 50 plus players entered the event which will be spiced up by the presence of past Protea cricketer, Paul Harris and Chinese Ambassador to Namibia.
