WBPHS “Legends Evening”a huge success

As part of the Walvis Bay Private High School (WBPHS) 4th annual FNB Desert Sport Festival, which concluded on Saturday, an evening of fine wine and dining with rugby giants Bakkies Botha, Schalk Burger Sr, Danie Gerber, Braam van Straaten, former couch Pieter de Villiers and Namibia’s own Jacques Burger was hosted at the Tom Swemmer school hall on Friday.
The evening was well supported. The legends kept the crowd captivated with rugby talk and also taking questions.
The night included a cosy wine tasting, auction and dinner. The legends were in town throughout the sport festivities and hosted a rugby clinic on Friday morning, sharing hints and techniques with players participating in the FNB Desert Sport Festival.

*Namib times on Friday erroneously reported that former Springbok, Schalk Burger Jr, attended the FNB Desert Sport Festival as one of the “Legends”. It was in fact Schalk Burger Sr who was in attendance at the festivities.
