Western Spurs Honored his team players
The club was established in 2000 by founding members Eugene Carolus, Piet Appollis, Rojo Van Wyk and Tyrone Mouton respectively. They started out competing in the social league that later affiliated as the third division, then with success their club gained promotion to the Erongo 2nd Division and now up on the ladder to where they play in Namibia’s Southern Stream First Division for the upcoming 2015/2016 season.
On Saturday night the club held a prize-giving night where they honored their players with medals and trophies. Chairman Nico Freygang said that this year was a tough year for the Club, but they have managed to pull through this season magnificently. “For all the supporters a huge thank you that you carry these guys on the field with the confidence that you, the supporters give to them,” Freygang said. Akio Van Wyk was announced as Player of the Season. This was a proud moment for him, since his son was crowned as Mr Walvis Bay Junior in the same month. All of the players received medals and certificates for their dedication they have given to the game of football. Top goal scorer was Lionel Van Schalkwyk, Young player of the year Ruwhal Maclobo, Longstanding player, Tyrone Mouton and most dedicated player, Sakaria Gabriel, Players Player was Andrew Jager with Most valuable player, Macdonald !Gaeb.
