Woman in near drowning incident at Langstrand

A lady of an unknown age managed to escape certain death on Sunday while swimming in the ocean in the vicinity of Langstrand. According to the West Coast Safety Initiative the lady was swept away by the strong current and ended up in trouble and soon thereafter was unable to reach shore on her own. Friends came to her rescue in a nick of time when she started disappearing under the water. She was initially unconscious when she was pulled from the water but regained consciousness while enroute to hospital in Swakopmund. She was alert and conscious but it was decided to keep her overnight for observations.
