The Namibian Police Force (NAMPOL) in the Erongo Region has welcomed and deployed 158 newly recruited police officers to police stations across the region.
The officers were officially introduced during a special briefing session led by Erongo Regional Commander, Commissioner N.K. Kupembona, before being assigned to their respective stations. Addressing the new recruits, Commissioner Kupembona reminded them that policing is a profession that requires dedication, discipline and a strong commitment to serving the public. He encouraged the officers to carry out their duties with integrity, honesty and respect while upholding the values of the Namibian Police Force. He stressed the importance of professionalism, teamwork and good conduct, urging the officers to avoid misconduct and always act in the best interests of the communities they serve.
According to the Commissioner, wearing the police uniform comes with great responsibility and officers must strive to be positive role models. Commissioner Kupembona also highlighted the importance of building strong relationships with community members, local leaders and other stakeholders. He said cooperation between the police and the public remains an important tool in the fight against crime and in creating safer communities. The deployment of the 158 officers is expected to strengthen policing capacity across Erongo, improve police visibility, enhance response times and support crime prevention efforts.
The Erongo Regional Command expressed confidence that the new officers will make a positive contribution to maintaining law and order while serving the nation with pride and commitment.
“Serve with discipline, protect with honour, and uphold the trust of the Namibian people,” was the message shared with the officers as they begin their duties across the region.
