Coastal rugby clubs FNB Kudus and FNB Dolphin remain in the hunt for improved finishes in the Namibia Rugby Union (NRU) Premier League despite contrasting fortunes during the latest round of fixtures.

Defending champions FNB Kudus retained fourth place on the standings despite suffering a 36–21 defeat to FNB Wanderers over the weekend. The Walvis Bay side has collected 26 points from seven matches, recording four wins and three losses as they continue their title defence. Fellow coastal outfit FNB Dolphin sits seventh on 14 points, having secured two victories while suffering five defeats during the campaign.

At the top of the table, FNB Grootfontein leads the standings with 37 points from eight matches after winning seven and losing just once. The league leaders have scored 304 points and conceded 229, giving them a points difference of +75. Close behind are FNB Wanderers and Trustco United, both on 35 points after unbeaten campaigns of six wins and one draw. Wanderers boast the league’s best points difference of +175, having scored 347 points while conceding only 172, while United has accumulated a points difference of +139. FNB Unam occupies fifth place with 18 points, followed by FNB Rehoboth in sixth on 15 points. FNB Reho Falcon is eighth with nine points. At the foot of the standings, FNB Western Suburbs remains without a victory this season.

The side has lost all seven of its matches and has collected just a single bonus point. With several rounds still to be played, the race for the championship and the battle for top-four positions remain wide open, while the coastal clubs will be aiming to finish the season strongly as the NRU Premier League heads into its decisive stages.
