The family of well-known Walvis Bay businessman Bart Reiman has paid an emotional tribute following his passing in Windhoek on Thursday, 2 July 2026, after a period of serious health challenges. He was 66.

Speaking on behalf of the family, his wife, Hannelie, and children Stacey, Kelly and Sean said they are saying goodbye not only to a respected businessman, but to the man who was the heart of their family. “To many, he was a respected businessman. To us, he was so much more,” the family shared. “He was a loving husband, an incredible father, a proud grandfather, and the heart of our family.”

Mr Reiman was well known throughout Walvis Bay and beyond for his business achievements, but also for his generosity and willingness to support community projects and people in need across Namibia. According to his family, kindness and compassion defined the way he lived his life. “He always had time to help someone who needed it. So many people have their own stories of his guidance, his support and his friendship. The lives he touched are a testament to the person he was,” they said.

While his passing has left a deep void, the family says they take comfort in the legacy he leaves behind. “The world feels a little quieter without him, but his legacy will live on in the family he loved so deeply, in the business he built, and in the countless people whose lives are better because they knew him.” In a final message to their husband, father and grandfather, the family said: “We miss you more than words can ever say. Thank you for everything you gave us, everything you taught us, and for the love you showed every day. “Rest peacefully, Dad.

You will always be loved, always be remembered, and never be forgotten.” Mr Reiman is survived by his wife, Hannelie, and children Stacey, Kelly and Sean.
