
Walvis Bay Sports Martial Arts delivered an outstanding performance at the RCFA Atlantic War I 2026, held recently at the Swakopmund Hotel and Entertainment Centre.
The club’s 21 fighters returned with an impressive haul of 41 medals, comprising 17 gold, 14 silver and 10 bronze across semi-contact high kicks, low kicks, sport boxing, close combat and weapons fighting.
The successful team consisted of Riaan Strauss, Oletu Mbwalala, Lillian Stoltz, Heinrich Andreas, Connor Lawrence, Xander Freeman, Heinrich Slabbert, RJ Saunders, Ethan Noble, Herold Gueorguiv, Christopher Juliean, Fillippus Muzanima, Aizzah Teixeira Ndunda, Abigayle Ndunda, Jacobus Potgieter, Claire Oosthuizen, Liam Stoltz, Daniel Louw, Joshua Saunders, Vaughan Freeman and Patrick Wayne Barnard.
Heinrich Slabbert and Riaan Strauss led the medal charge, each claiming three gold medals. Oletu Mbwalala and Christopher Juliean also impressed with two gold medals apiece.
Beyond the medal tally, the entire team was praised for representing Walvis Bay with courage, discipline and excellent sportsmanship throughout the competition. Walvis Bay Sports Martial Arts congratulated all 21 fighters on their achievements and expressed appreciation to the coaches, parents and supporters whose dedication and encouragement contributed to the team’s success.
The strong showing at the RCFA Atlantic War I 2026 highlights the growing talent and competitive spirit within Walvis Bay’s martial arts community.
