
The Walvis Bay police are investigating a case of attempted murder and Discharging of a firearm and thereby negligently injuring or endangering the life of another person, after a 33-year-old female was allegedly struck by a rubber bullet fired by a security guard deployed at a well-known Walvis Bay Hotel on Friday, 28 August 2026 at around 11:00.
As per the official Nampol weekend crime report, it is alleged that the victim was walking on foot from FNB towards Shoprite complex and while walking passing the Hotel she was hit and injured by a rubber bullet fired by a Security guard. The victim was taken to Walvis Bay State hospital where she was treated and discharged. A 31-year-old male suspect was arrested and the shotgun used was impounded. It is registered under the Security Company of the suspect’s employer and was loaded with rubber bullets.
Police investigation continues.
