The stage is set for another heavyweight showdown between FNB Kudus and FNB Wanderers, with the two sides set to renew their rivalry in the Namibia Rugby Union (NRU) Premier League final at 16:15 on 10 October at Hage Geingob Stadium in Windhoek.
The final will be a repeat of last year’s championship clash, when the pride of Walvis Bay stunned Wanderers 50–32 to claim their first-ever NRU Premier League title.
Now, the coastal giants have another opportunity with title defence and historic double in sight to etch their name into Namibian rugby history. Kudus booked their place in the 2026 final with a convincing semifinal victory over Montego United, while Wanderers powered past FNB Grootfontein to set up another battle for domestic supremacy.
Kudus defeated United 55–38, while FNB Wanderers recorded a commanding 60–27 victory over FNB Grootfontein. The results ensure that the two sides will once again face each other with the Namibian club rugby championship on the line.
For Kudus, however, the stakes on 10 October extend beyond the Premier League. The Walvis Bay club will have teams competing in both the Premier League and Reserve League finals, putting the Blou Masjien within reach of a potential championship double.
RDI Kudu will face UNAM for the Reserve League title at 14:30 before the senior sides take centre stage. It promises to be a major day for the coastal club and its supporters, who are being urged to make the journey to Windhoek and turn Hage Geingob Stadium Blue. Last year’s Premier League triumph marked a historic moment for Kudus as they dethroned Wanderers and captured their first Premier League crown.
The victory ended decades of waiting and placed the Walvis Bay outfit among Namibia’s domestic rugby champions. Now Wanderers will be looking to reclaim the crown, while Kudus will attempt to prove that last year’s breakthrough was the beginning of a new era rather than a once-off triumph. With both clubs coming through their semifinals in convincing fashion, little separates the sides heading into the rematch.
For the Blue Army, 10 October is more than just another rugby final. It is a chance to witness the Blou Masjien fight for another Premier League crown while the Reserve side simultaneously chases silverware.
Hage Geingob Stadium will be the battlefield. The Blou Masjien will be defending its crowns. Whilst Wanderers and UNAM will be coming for it.
