Martial arts athletes from across the Erongo Region are preparing for an action-packed day of competition as Atlantic War I – Erongo Regional Trials 2026 is set to take place on 1 August 2026 at the Swakopmund Hotel and Entertainment Centre.
Organised by Swakopmund Fight Club under the sanction of Ring Contact Fighting Arts International (RCFAI) Namibia and Martial Arts Namibia (MAN), the event will serve as the official regional trials, providing athletes with an opportunity to compete for regional recognition and future selection.
The tournament is expected to bring together competitors, coaches, officials and martial arts enthusiasts from across the region for a showcase of skill, discipline and sportsmanship. Fighters will compete in a range of semi-contact disciplines, including Sport Boxing, High Kicks, and Close Combat, highlighting the diversity and growing standard of martial arts in Namibia.
With top regional fighters set to compete under one roof, Atlantic War I is expected to be one of Erongo’s premier martial arts events of 2026, celebrating athletic excellence while contributing to the continued growth and development of the sport in Namibia.
Event coordinator Jackeline Sass said Atlantic War I is more than just a competition. “It is a platform to identify emerging talent while promoting the values of respect, perseverance and excellence that define the sport.”
She added that the event will provide athletes with an opportunity to test their abilities against some of the region’s best competitors while inspiring the next generation of martial artists. Sass also extended an invitation to the media to attend the event. “We believe this event offers an excellent opportunity to capture the intensity, discipline and sportsmanship of our athletes as they compete for regional honours,” she said.
Sass are confident that Atlantic War I will not only showcase the region’s finest martial artists but also strengthen the development of combat sports in Namibia by providing a competitive platform for both established and emerging athletes. Athlete registration is currently open through Kihapp.com, with entries closing on 26 July 2026. Sass has urged clubs and individual competitors to submit their entries before the deadline to secure participation.
