A case of murder is being investigated by the Walvis Bay police after security guards on patrol came across a male person laying in the open dark space between the railway line and Sam Nujoma Avenue on Saturday 29 August 2026 at around 00:20.

Upon closer investigation the security guards noticed that the person was unresponsive and immediately summoned St Gabriel ambulance and the Police. The victim was declared dead at the scene by medical personnel. The deceased was identified as Ihuhwa Tomas (48). “The victim did not have any visible injuries on the body, his clothes looked clean although his trousers’ pockets were turned inside out and without shoes,” the official Nampol crime report states.

The body was taken to Walvis Bay State hospital for death certification and later to Walvis Bay Police mortuary for postmortem examination. The next of kin have been informed and the police investigation continues.
