Motorsport enthusiasts are gearing up for a high-speed day of action when the Swakopmund Motor Club hosts Leg 6 of the 2026 Namibia National Motocross Championship on Saturday, 26 September.

The event will take place at the Swakopmund Motocross Track, with riders from across Namibia expected to converge on the coastal town to battle for valuable championship points as the national season enters its closing stages.

Racing will feature a wide range of classes, including MX 50cc, Women’s MX, Clubmans, MX 65cc, MX 85cc, MX 125cc Juniors and Seniors, Vets and Open. The day will culminate in the highly anticipated King of the Dirt event, adding another exciting chapter to what promises to be a full day of high-speed motorsport.

Spectators can expect plenty of action, with riders tackling jumps, corners and the challenging dirt track as they fight for positions and championship points. The Swakopmund round forms part of the 2026 national motocross calendar and is one of the final rounds of the season.

The Swakopmund Motor Club, an affiliated member of the Namibia Motorsport Federation, is responsible for organising motorsport activities in the coastal town. Organisers are inviting families, motorsport supporters and visitors to attend and experience the noise, speed and excitement of national motocross racing.

Gates open at 6:00, while the bar and kiosk open at 7:00. The first race is scheduled to get underway at 11:00. Entry is N$20 per person before 16:00, increasing to N$40 after 16:00. The entry fee also applies to competitors. With the national championship entering its final stages, all eyes will be on Swakopmund as riders battle it out on the dirt in what promises to be an action-packed coastal showdown.

Following the coastal event, the championship is scheduled to continue in Omaruru on 17 October, before the final round in Gallina on 28 November.
