Cue Sports Stars to Commonwealth Championships 1

Namibia will have three representatives on the international cue sports stage when the country’s top players compete at the 2026 Commonwealth Cue Sports Championships in Ahmedabad, India, from 7 to 10 October.

The Namibia Cue Sports Federation (NCSF) has selected Martie Kotze, Curtis Izaaks and Cyril Möller to represent the country at the prestigious championships, where competitors from across the Commonwealth will battle for honours across several cue sports disciplines.

Kotze and Möller will compete in the Masters Division, while Izaaks will represent Namibia in the Senior Division. Kotze heads into the tournament as Namibia’s top female Blackball performer, while Möller earned selection as the country’s leading male Blackball player in the Masters category.

Izaaks will carry Namibia’s hopes in the Senior Division after emerging as the leading U23 male performer and finishing runner-up in the senior category. The championships are sanctioned by the World Confederation of Billiards Sports (WCBS) and hosted by the Billiards & Snooker Federation of India.

The competition will feature knockout events across snooker, billiards, 10-ball, Blackball and Heyball, bringing together cue sports players from Commonwealth nations. The Namibian trio earned their places following standout performances during the 2025 Namibia National Blackball League, where they established themselves among the country’s leading performers.

For the NCSF, their selection represents an opportunity to showcase the depth of Namibia’s cue sports talent on an international platform. The federation said it was proud of the three athletes and expressed confidence that they would represent Namibia with distinction.

“We firmly believe they will showcase the talent and spirit of Namibian cue sports to the world,” the federation said, while calling on supporters to rally behind the national representatives.

The championships will be staged at the Veer Savarkar Sports Complex in Gujarat, with Namibia’s three representatives set to face some of the Commonwealth’s leading cue sports players.

For Kotze, Izaaks and Möller, the trip to India represents more than international competition, it is an opportunity to test themselves against a wider field and put Namibian cue sports firmly on the international table.
