DBN Walvis Bay Municipality Align on strategic development goals 1

A high-level delegation from the Development Bank of Namibia (DBN) engaged with the Municipality of Walvis Bay on Friday as part of a stakeholder familiarisation visit to the Erongo Region, aimed at strengthening collaboration and advancing key development priorities.

The delegation, comprising DBN Board Members and senior management, was officially received by Walvis Bay Mayor, Johannes Shimbilinga, alongside councillors and municipal management. The engagement focused on fostering strategic partnerships between the Bank and the municipality in support of local and national economic growth.

Central to the discussions were key development priorities within Walvis Bay, including infrastructure expansion, logistics, and industrial growth. Both parties explored opportunities for Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) as a mechanism to unlock investment and accelerate sustainable development initiatives in the harbour town. The visit further served as a platform to align on potential strategic projects, financing opportunities, and long-term cooperation that could contribute to strengthening the region’s economic base. Shimbilinga welcomed the engagement, reaffirming the municipality’s commitment to working closely with institutions such as DBN to drive inclusive economic growth and improve service delivery for residents.
