Government through the Office of the Prime Minister, will host the Africa Public Service Day (APSD) 2026 commemoration in Swakopmund, Erongo Region, from 21 to 23 July 2026.
The APSD is an annual African Union (AU) initiative observed by all Member States every year on 23 June to recognise the dedication, innovation and contribution of public servants in delivering essential public services to citizens.
Namibia has commemorated the occasion annually since 2007, with the last APSD held in Khomas Region, Windhoek with a focus on citizen-centred service delivery and innovation.
The 2026 commemoration will be held under the theme: “Enhancing Public Sector Institutions and Empowering Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships to Achieve Universal Water Availability and Safe Sanitation by 2063.”
The Africa Public Service Day is more than a celebration-it is platform for self-introspection, collaboration and accountability in the Public Service.
We, therefore, invite all government institutions, development partners, the private sector, academia, civil society and the public to participate in this important event,” said the Chairperson of the APSD 2026 Project Team, Victor Kaulinge.
