MTC Brings Services Closer to Kuisebmund 1

Residents of Kuisebmund no longer have to travel into central Walvis Bay for many of their telecommunication’s needs, following the opening of MTC’s first MobileHome in the community.

The new outlet, officially opened today, is MTC’s third customer service outlet in Walvis Bay and its 42nd MobileHome nationally. The expansion comes as Walvis Bay continues to grow, with MTC citing the increasing population, rising demand for telecommunications services and the need to bring customer services closer to communities as key reasons for establishing the new outlet.

MTC General Manager for Sales, Enterprise & CRM, Elton Katangolo, said the Kuisebmund MobileHome forms part of the company’s broader strategy to improve accessibility, convenience and customer experience across Namibia. “Walvis Bay continues to grow, and with that growth comes the need for reliable, accessible and convenient customer service points,” Katangolo said.

He said the new outlet would allow residents to access MTC services closer to where they live while providing a modern environment designed to improve service delivery. The MobileHome offers customers access to MTC’s full range of services, including SIM registration and replacement, account-related services, prepaid and postpaid solutions, mobile data services, device purchases and MTC Maris digital financial services.

“If you are from Kuisebmund, you will not need to travel to town anymore,” Katangolo said. The opening forms part of MTC’s continued expansion of its physical service footprint in response to changing market and community needs.

Earlier this year, a new MobileHome was opened in Okongo in the Ohangwena Region, while the Okuryangava settlement in Katutura, Windhoek, recently received a permanent MobileHome after previously being served from a temporary container facility.

MTC said its expansion programme will continue into the 2027 financial year, with possible new outlets earmarked for Omaruru, Otjinene and potentially Outjo.

For Kuisebmund, however, the immediate impact is bringing everyday telecommunications services closer to a community that has long formed an important part of Walvis Bay’s growing population.

The new MobileHome adds another service point to the coastal town as MTC continues expanding its national footprint.
