PUBLIC APPEAL TO IDENTIFY VICTIMS OF FATAL B2 CRASH
Public appeal

The Namibian Police in the Erongo Region have issued an urgent public appeal to assist in identifying victims of a fatal road accident that occurred earlier this week.

According to Senior Inspector Judith Shomongula, the crash took place on Tuesday, 29 April, at approximately 21:00 on the B2 road between Arandis and Swakopmund, near the Swakop Uranium turn-off. The accident involved a Toyota Quantum minibus and a truck.

Tragically, all occupants of the Quantum minibus succumbed to their injuries at the scene. At this stage, the deceased persons remain unidentified.

Their bodies have been transported to the Walvis Bay Police Mortuary, where they are being kept pending identification.

The police are now calling on members of the public to come forward. Anyone who had a family member or knows of someone who travelled along this route around the time of the accident is urged to contact their nearest police station or the Arandis Police to assist with the identification process.

Police emphasised that community cooperation is crucial in ensuring that the victims are identified and their families notified.

Police investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.
