The 2026 African Marketing Fistball League returns to Swakopmund on 15 August, with the third round set to provide teams with another crucial opportunity to collect valuable league points ahead of the final round in September.
Hosted at SFC Swakopmund, the tournament will see teams battle across the A, B and youth leagues, with several divisions still finely poised.
The A League standings could hardly be closer at the top after the opening two rounds. CFC 1 and SFC 1 are level on 22 points, with the current tiebreak situation separating the two sides. SKW 1 occupies third place on 15 points, while CFC 2 has eight points and SKW 2 sits on two.
The three leading teams will face one another throughout the day in Swakopmund, making the third round particularly important.
Encounters between CFC 1 and SFC 1 could have a major bearing on the standings as the teams look ahead to the fourth and final league round in September. SKW 1 will also be hoping to close the gap on the two leaders and strengthen its position in the title race.
In the B League, SKW 3 has made an impressive start to the season and currently leads the standings with 24 points. SFC 2 is second on 13 points, while CFC 3 and SKW 4 are tied on 10 points. SFC 3 has seven points, while SKW 5 is still searching for its first points of the campaign.
The third round provides the teams with another opportunity to improve their positions before the season reaches its final league round in September.
The U18 League is also wide open behind current leaders SKW 1, who have nine points. CFC 1, SKW 2 and SFC 1 are all tied on four points, leaving the battle for the remaining positions highly competitive.
The youth categories will once again form an important part of the tournament programme. The first U12 matches are scheduled to begin at 08:00, followed by the U15 matches from 09:30.
The senior A and B League matches will get under way at 11:00, with the final games scheduled for the afternoon.
The A League will be contested in a best-of-five format, while the B League will use best-of-three sets. The U18 and U15 competitions consist of two sets, meaning matches can end in draws. The U12 category will also be played over two shorter sets.
With the league season now approaching its second half and only one further round remaining after Saturday’s action, the Swakopmund tournament promises to be an important stage in the 2026 campaign.
