The Grade 0 learners from Learning Right Kiddies Centre and the Grade 1 learners from Learning Right Elementary School recently enjoyed an educational outing to Natura Garden Centre, where they learned more about plants and horticulture.

The visit formed part of the learners’ current classroom theme on plants and gave them the opportunity to experience gardening in a practical way. The children were warmly welcomed by the management and staff at Natura Garden Centre, who introduced them to different types of plants and explained the basics of gardening in a fun and easy-to-understand way.

The learners listened with interest, asked questions and enjoyed exploring the garden centre. A special highlight of the visit was that every learner received a plant to take home. The gift brought plenty of smiles and excitement and will encourage the children to care for their own plants while developing a love and appreciation for nature. Headmaster Onesmus Nghipundjwa said experiences like these are an important part of learning. “We believe that meaningful learning takes place beyond the classroom.

Excursions like this help learners connect what they are taught at school with real-life experiences, making learning more enjoyable and memorable,” he said. Learning Right Elementary School also thanked the management and staff of Natura Garden Centre for their warm hospitality, generosity and for sharing their knowledge with the young learners.

The outing provided a valuable hands-on learning experience and left the children inspired to continue exploring the world of plants and gardening.
