More than 2 000 runners are expected to take part in the sixth edition of the Nedbank Citi Dash on 6 September 2026 at the Windhoek High School (WHS) Vegkop Stadium.
The event has become a major fixture on Namibia’s spring sporting calendar, promoting health, wellness, community participation and active living.
This will be the second consecutive year that the race starts and finishes at Vegkop Stadium following its successful move there in 2025.
The weekend gets underway on Saturday, 5 September, with the LiveXpo race village offering health and lifestyle stalls, food, entertainment and activities for families. Race-number collection will also take place at the stadium from 10:00 to 16:00.
Sunday’s races begin at 7:00 with the 10 km Elite Run, followed by the 10 km Fun Run at 7:15 and the 5 km Family Run at 7:45. The elite race is open to competitive runners who meet the qualifying standards of under 55 minutes for men and 60 minutes for women, with trophies and cash prizes up for grabs.
All participants who finish within the prescribed cut-off times will receive commemorative medals. Organisers confirmed that preparations are complete, with road closures planned in parts of the Windhoek CBD to ensure the safety of participants.
Event organiser Frank Bombosch said all operational arrangements were in place, while urging motorists to exercise caution around the race routes. Nedbank Namibia Manager for Communications and PR Selma Kaulinge highlighted the strong community response, particularly from junior runners and schools, and encouraged families to attend and support the event.
