The next generation of Namibian golfers showcased their talent and determination at the NAMKIDS Rossmund Open 2026, held at the picturesque Rossmund Golf Course.

The two-day junior tournament attracted promising young golfers who competed across various age divisions, with players demonstrating skill, sportsmanship and a strong competitive spirit throughout the event.

Samuel Nel emerged as the standout performer, claiming the Overall Championship after an impressive 54-hole total of 233. Nel carded rounds of 71, 81 and 81 to secure the overall title despite challenging playing conditions.

His consistent performance over the three rounds highlighted both his ability and composure under pressure, earning him recognition as the tournament’s overall champion.

The event also celebrated winners across the various age divisions, while every junior who took part was praised for their commitment and determination.

Organisers extended their appreciation to Rossmund Golf Course for hosting the tournament, as well as to the juniors, parents and supporters whose participation and encouragement contributed to the success of the event.

The NAMKIDS Rossmund Open forms part of efforts to nurture and develop junior golf in Namibia by giving young players valuable opportunities to compete, gain experience and test themselves against their peers.

Each tournament provides another important step in developing future golfing talent, with the performances at Rossmund once again highlighting the potential within Namibia’s junior ranks.

With continued participation, practice and support, the young golfers are expected to play an increasingly important role in the future of Namibian golf.

The organisers congratulated all the winners and participants for their efforts and sportsmanship, while encouraging the juniors to keep practising, competing and growing as they continue their golfing journey.
