The streets of Karibib are set to come alive on Saturday, 19 September, as runners from across Namibia converge on the town for the Navachab Half Marathon, a day of endurance, competition and community spirit.
Hosted at Usab Stadium, the event promises a celebration of running, fitness and community spirit, with race categories catering for seasoned athletes, recreational runners, families and first-time participants.
The headline event is the 21.1km Half Marathon, offering serious competitors an opportunity to test their endurance and chase a personal best. Runners looking for a shorter challenge can take on the 10km race, while the 5km Fun Run is designed to bring families, beginners and recreational athletes into the action.
Organisers are promising a fast and scenic route, complemented by race-day support aimed at delivering an enjoyable experience for participants. There is also extra incentive to cross the finish line. Every finisher will receive a commemorative medal, while the first 200 entrants will receive event T-shirts.
Beyond the competition, the Navachab Half Marathon is expected to create a vibrant atmosphere in Karibib, promoting healthy living, fitness and community participation. Whether runners are chasing victory, targeting a new personal record or simply looking for a fun day out with friends and family, the event offers a distance for every level.
