Walvis Bay-based Desert View Private School’s U17 Football team have been crowned champions of the 2026 Champion Maize Youth League Coastal Edition following the conclusion of the season in Swakopmund yesterday.

The Coastal Edition brought together 65 teams and more than 1,100 young players, with over 550 matches played throughout the campaign. Sponsored by Bokomo under its Champion Maize brand, the league continues to provide young footballers along the coast with opportunities to develop their skills and gain valuable competitive experience.

The season also produced champions across several age groups. SFC Swakopmund Youth Academy were crowned champions in the U13 and U11 categories, while the SFC U15 team also secured a championship title.

Walvis Bay Gymnasium goalkeeper Asher Egumbo was named Goalkeeper of the Season, recognising his performances during the campaign. Organisers thanked Bokomo, participating clubs, players, coaches, parents and other stakeholders for contributing to the successful completion of the 2026 Coastal Edition.
