CFC 1 retained their A League crown, while SKW 4 and SKW 1 emerged as B League and U18 champions respectively when the 2026 African Marketing Fistball League concluded at the SKW grounds in Windhoek on 17 October.
The season-ending playoffs brought four rounds of league action to an exciting conclusion, marking the return of the competition after the 2025 season was cancelled.
Teams battled across two fields in knockout matches before the finals and prize-giving ceremony brought the season to a close. Defending champions CFC 1 underlined their dominance in the A League, defeating SFC 1 by 3–0 in the final without dropping a set.
Having finished the league phase at the top of the standings, CFC 1 capped their campaign with a commanding performance to secure another title, leaving SFC 1 to settle for second place. SKW 1 finished third in the A League standings, followed by CFC 2 and SKW 2.
In the B League, SKW 4 claimed the championship after defeating fellow club side SKW 3 by 3–1 in a closely contested final. SFC 2 secured third place, while CFC 3, SKW 5 and SFC 3 completed the standings. The victory marked a change in the division’s leadership, with defending champions SKW 5 unable to repeat their previous success.
The U18 competition also produced new champions, with SKW 1 taking the title ahead of SKW 2, CFC 1 and SFC 1. The result saw SKW 1 claim junior honours after 2024 champions SFC 1 fell short of defending their crown. Individual performances were recognised during the prize-giving ceremony, with Tim von Dewitz named Player of the Day for his outstanding contribution throughout the competition.
Jörg Krauer received the Youth Player award in recognition of his performances in the junior competitions. The conclusion of the 2026 African Marketing Fistball League marked the return of the competition after a year-long absence, providing another showcase of local talent and competitive fistball.
With CFC 1 maintaining their dominance in the A League and SKW 4 and SKW 1 celebrating success in their respective divisions, teams will now look ahead to another competitive season in 2027. Photo contributed.
