The Coastal Women’s Rugby Team has received a welcome boost ahead of the new season following the official handover of a new team kit, made possible through the generosity of local supporters committed to the growth of women’s rugby.

According to the team, the donation represents far more than a new uniform, it symbolises opportunity, unity and the confidence to proudly represent our community on and off the field,” the team said.

Marcella Britz Vice Chairwoman of Coastal Women’s Rugby Team said that the support received reflects a shared commitment to empowering women through sport and creating opportunities for female athletes to develop and compete at a higher level.

She said, “The team also acknowledged the donors’ belief in their vision and their willingness to invest in the continued growth of women’s rugby along the coast”. According to Britz, Women’s rugby has continued to gain momentum in Namibia in recent years, with increasing participation and support helping to expand opportunities for female players across the country. She it hopes to repay the faith shown by its supporters with strong performances throughout the season while continuing to promote the values of teamwork, discipline and community.

Britz concluded by thanking everyone involved in making the donation possible, saying the gesture will inspire the players as they proudly represent the Erongo Region both on and off the field.

“Together we are stronger. Together we are the Coastal Women’s Rugby Team.”

The team expressed its heartfelt appreciation to Willy Muller, Joe Blom, Donny Paulse, Magix Davids, Nowie Jeneke, Simao Samata, Tarence Cook and Nico Freygang for their contributions towards the new playing kit.
