A total of 46 golfers took part in the Multisave Medal, Medal Masters and Medal Mania competitions over the weekend, with Jakkie de Witt claiming the Best Nett prize on a count-out at Walvis Bay Golf Club.

De Witt carded a nett score of 72 to take the honours, edging Roche Pitout, who also finished on 72, into the runner-up position. Thomas Wolff was third best nett, also on 72.

Sam Nel claimed the Best Gross title with a score of 74. In the Stableford competition, Shane Westerdale topped the field with 38 points, followed by Pieter Fox on 36 points.

Only one two-club was recorded during the competition, with Wilma de Wet taking the honour.

The club thanked all participating golfers and sponsor Multisave for its continued support. Last Wednesday’s competition was won by Danie van Antwerpen on 18 points, with Wayne Hart also scoring 18 points but losing the count-out. Willie Venter finished third on 17 points.

Thursday’s seniors competition saw Andre Burger take first place with 40 points, followed by Robert Moyce on 39 and Ken Roberts on 36. Burger also won the brood competition. There was also a notable achievement away from the club, with Sandro De Gouveia recording an ace on the 17th hole at Windhoek Country Club on 18 September.

The course will be closed from 21 to 27 September for greens maintenance and will reopen on 28 September 2026.

The upcoming programme includes Greenkeepers Revenge on 3 October, Plastic Packaging Individual Stableford on 10 October and Local Sages on 11 October.
