FNB Dolphins Rugby Club produced a powerful statement on home soil on Saturday, defeating FNB UNAM Rugby Club 27–12 in a hard-fought Namibia Premier League encounter to secure its first-ever victory over the students.

The Dolphins came out firing at Tamariskia Stadium, showing determination, discipline and attacking intent as they put the visitors under pressure from the opening exchanges for the historic win.

UNAM refused to back down and fought hard to remain in the contest, but the home side continued to control the momentum and capitalised on key opportunities.

The Dolphins’ 27-point haul reflected an impressive attacking performance, while their defence stood firm whenever UNAM threatened to fight its way back into the match. The visitors managed 12 points, but ultimately struggled to match the intensity and execution of a Dolphins side clearly determined to make history.

For the coastal outfit, the victory was about more than just league points. It represented a breakthrough moment against a traditionally competitive UNAM side and provided a major boost to the team’s confidence as the Premier League campaign gathers momentum.
