The 064 Motorcycle Club’s inaugural Flamingo Rally exceeded expectations as hundreds of bikers, families and visitors recently gathered in Swakopmund for a weekend celebrating motorcycles, entertainment and community spirit.
The event attracted more than 500 guests and featured over 100 motorcycles, drawing participation from 16 motorcycle clubs across Namibia, as well as special guests from South Africa’s renowned 69ers Biker Crew.
Among the Namibian clubs represented were 1313 Familia, MAC’S, Desert Mustangs, CODED, CC Riders, Hells Angels, Live To Ride, B1 Riders, Toppas, Skeleton Coast Bikers Church, Chain Gang, Black Listed, Acacia Eagles, Namib Hawks Rosh Pinah and Solo Riders.
Entertainment played a central role throughout the weekend, with international recording artist Joey-Joe delivering a lively performance, while MC Will Hendricks and DJ A$H kept the crowd entertained.
Designed as a family-friendly event, the rally included activities for children and attractions aimed at visitors of all ages, creating an inclusive atmosphere beyond the motorcycle community.
One lucky attendee, Aimee Coetzee, walked away with the grand prize of N$10,000 during the rally’s much-anticipated cash draw. The Show and Shine Competition highlighted some of the finest motorcycles on display, with D. Lange taking top honours for his immaculate CF Moto 1000CC.
Judges praised the motorcycle’s outstanding presentation, condition and attention to detail. Drag racing action also thrilled spectators, with Lorenzo of the 69ers Biker Crew winning the men’s category, while Jeanene Smith of the Desert Mustangs Motorcycle Club claimed victory in the women’s division.
Another highlight was the first-ever DB Challenge, which tested the power and sound of competing motorcycles. Theo Cookson, president of the 1313 MAC’S Familia Motorcycle Club in Swakopmund, claimed the inaugural title with his Suzuki Bandit. Beyond the festivities, the rally served a greater purpose.
Established in October 2024, the 064 Motorcycle Club was founded on the principles of brotherhood, unity, community upliftment and social responsibility. Proceeds from the inaugural event will fund the installation of three geyser systems at Welwitschia Old Age Home, helping to improve living conditions for its residents.
The club expressed its gratitude to sponsors, vendors, volunteers, entertainers, participating clubs and members of the public for contributing to the event’s success. Following a highly successful debut, the Flamingo Rally has firmly established itself as a promising addition to Namibia’s motorcycle calendar, with organisers already looking forward to an even bigger event next year.
