Namibian beach volleyball brothers Max and Jura Krafft will be among the home favourites when Swakopmund hosts the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) Zone VI Beach Volleyball Tour, Leg 4, from 6 to 8 August.

The prestigious tournament will bring together some of Southern Africa’s top beach volleyball players as teams from Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe and hosts Namibia battle for valuable ranking points and regional honours.

For the Krafft brothers, the tournament presents an opportunity to compete against the region’s best on home sand while showcasing Namibia’s growing strength in the sport.

The three-day event forms part of the fifth edition of the CAVB Zone VI Beach Volleyball Tour and is expected to deliver high-quality competition while offering athletes valuable international ranking opportunities.

The tournament follows closely on the successful staging of the Namibia Volleyball Federation’s Bank Windhoek Open National Beach Tour at Mole Beach, further highlighting Swakopmund’s status as one of Southern Africa’s premier beach volleyball destinations.

With strong home support expected, Namibia’s teams will be looking to capitalise on familiar conditions as they challenge some of the continent’s leading beach volleyball nations.

The tournament is being organised by CAVB Zone VI in partnership with the Namibia Volleyball Federation (NVF), with support from the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) and the Namibia Sports Commission.

Competition gets underway on Wednesday, 6 August, with the finals scheduled for Friday, 8 August, when regional champions will be crowned on the sands of Swakopmund.
