Mozambique and Botswana Lead Opening Day of Zone VI Beach Volleyball Tour

Mozambique and Botswana made strong starts as the 5th Edition of the CAVB Zone VI Beach Volleyball Tour – Leg 4 got underway in Swakopmund on Thursday.

The tournament, running from 5–9 August 2026, has attracted teams from across Southern Africa, including Namibia, Mozambique, Botswana, South Africa, Angola, Malawi and Zimbabwe. In the women’s competition, Mozambique’s Nadia and Verónica impressed in Pool A with early victories, while Namibia’s Lameesh and Mathew also produced a strong opening performance. Fellow Namibian pairs Lück/Böhm and Coetzee/Dürrschmidt fought hard against regional opposition.

The men’s competition delivered several exciting battles.

Mozambique’s Mondlane/Denilson dominated Pool B with three straight wins, while Botswana’s Elias/Baleofi also impressed. In Pool C, Botswana’s Jack/Chiswaniso maintained a perfect record, with Namibia’s Ndaxula/Thomas remaining competitive. Namibia’s Von Wietersheim/Rogl emerged among the leading teams in Pool A, while Angola’s Carlos/Afonso and South Africa’s Danilo/Kemoloile topped Pool D.

After the opening day, Mondlane/Denilson (Mozambique), Krafft/Krafft (Namibia), Jack/Chiswaniso (Botswana) and Carlos/Afonso (Angola) occupied the top men’s seedings.
