Old Scholars Rally Behind De Duine Rugby Team

The De Duine Secondary School rugby programme in Walvis Bay has received a timely boost following the generous sponsorship of new rugby jerseys by a group of former learners committed to giving back to their alma mater.

The school extended its sincere appreciation to the Old Scholars whose contributions made the new kit possible: Willy Muller, Joe Blom, Donny Paulse, Magix Davids, Nowie Jeneke, Simao Samata, Tarence Cook and Nico Freygang.

School representatives said the donation reflects the strong bond that continues to exist between former learners and De Duine S.S., while demonstrating the important role alumni can play in supporting the development of young athletes.

The new jerseys will not only give the team a fresh look on the field but will also instil a sense of pride and unity as players represent their school in upcoming competitions. In a message of thanks, the school expressed its gratitude for the sponsors’ generosity and commitment to the institution and its learners.

“Your generosity and commitment to our school and our learners is deeply appreciated. Your support inspires our rugby team to strive for excellence both on and off the field,” the school said. The sponsorship forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen school rugby and create opportunities for young players to develop both their sporting abilities and personal character.

Concluding its message, De Duine S.S. thanked the donors for investing in the future of its learners and reaffirmed the school’s motto: “One Team • One School • One Family.”
