Team Namibia proudly joined athletes and delegations from around the world at the official opening ceremony of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Senegal.

The Namibian delegation took part in the historic occasion, with the country’s young athletes proudly representing their nation as the Games officially got underway.

The opening ceremony celebrated the spirit of international sport, bringing together young athletes from different countries under the values of unity, friendship, respect and sportsmanship.

For Team Namibia, the ceremony marked the beginning of an important international sporting journey, as the athletes prepare to compete against some of the world’s promising young talents.

The Namibian team will be hoping to make the country proud through strong performances, determination and commitment throughout the Games.
