A 12-year-old boy was seriously injured after being hit by a car on Sam Nujoma Drive in Walvis Bay on Monday evening last week.

According to the Namibian Police, the accident happened at around 18:00 on 13 July 2026. It is alleged that the driver of a sedan struck the boy while he was attempting to cross the road. The boy sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Welwitschia Private Hospital, where he remains admitted and is receiving medical treatment. No arrest has been made. However, the driver was issued with a summons for driving without a valid driver’s licence. Police investigations into the accident are continuing.
