An excavator that overturned at the Narraville T-junction on the route to Walvis Bay earlier this week was safely recovered following a carefully planned lifting operation.

The incident occurred around lunchtime on Tuesday last week, when the excavator overturned, causing a partial obstruction on the roadway. The operator escaped without injuries. According to information received from Titan Lift & Rigging Solutions CC, the excavator overturned after the container in which it was being transported shifted during transit.

Titan Lift & Rigging Solutions CC was appointed to carry out the recovery operation after the incident. The exact cause of the overturning could not be verified by the company. The company used a dual-crane lifting operation to safely recover the excavator, reload it onto a trailer and clear the scene without any further incidents. The recovery operation was led by Ruben de Beer, owner and co-founder of Titan Lift & Rigging Solutions CC, who has more than 17 years of experience in lifting, rigging, crane operations and heavy equipment recoveries. The company says the successful recovery highlights the importance of careful planning, technical expertise and teamwork when dealing with heavy equipment incidents.
