The Naval Training School (NTS) celebrated the successful completion of its Marines Formation Course following a challenging five-day Field Training Exercise (FTX) which concluded on 10 July 2026.

The course tested the trainees’ endurance, discipline, teamwork and ability to operate under demanding conditions as they prepared to become members of the Namibian Navy Marines Corps. During a combat reception ceremony held on Friday, Commandant of the Naval Training School, Captain (Navy) Fanuel Iiyambo, congratulated the trainees on their achievement and praised their resilience and commitment throughout the training.

A highlight of the ceremony was the awarding of the Namibian Marines Tags, which represent courage, professionalism and readiness to defend the nation. Captain Iiyambo encouraged the newly qualified Marines to uphold the highest standards of military service and to carry out their duties with dedication and integrity. The instructors were also recognised for their commitment and efforts in developing the trainees into capable and professional members of the Marines Corps.

The ceremony marked the beginning of a new chapter for the graduates as they officially joined the ranks of the Namibian Navy Marines Corps, ready to serve and protect the country.
