The Port of Walvis Bay welcomed the arrival of the cruise vessel VIKING YI DUN during her maiden call to Namibia, further strengthening Walvis Bay’s growing reputation as a cruise destination and gateway to the country’s tourism attractions.

To mark the occasion, Namport hosted a traditional crest exchange ceremony on board the vessel, where Port Captain Lukas Kufuna exchanged crests with the vessel’s Master. The ceremony symbolised friendship, mutual respect and the continued strengthening of international maritime partnerships between Namibia and the global shipping community.

Namport said the visit by VIKING YI DUN highlights the important role the Port of Walvis Bay plays in supporting tourism and creating opportunities for visitors to experience Namibia’s unique landscapes, culture and attractions.
