Namibia’s Young Warriors completed a perfect Group A campaign at the TotalEnergies CAF Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations COSAFA Qualifiers with a convincing 3–0 victory over Seychelles at ABB 2 Stadium in Mozambique on Tuesday.

The result gave Namibia nine points from three matches, with five goals scored and none conceded, securing their place in the semi-finals. Rashid Naobeb opened the scoring in the 13th minute after dribbling past the Seychelles goalkeeper before calmly finishing from the left side.

Namibia maintained control after the interval and doubled their advantage in the 62nd minute when Mateus Ashitenda found the back of the net.

Ngifikefunue Kandume then completed the scoring in the 77th minute as the Young Warriors recorded their third consecutive clean sheet. Namibia had earlier defeated Mauritius 1–0 in their opening match, with captain Lukas Sakeus scoring the decisive goal, before Rashid Naobeb netted the winner in a 1–0 victory over hosts Mozambique.

The Young Warriors finished top of Group A with nine points, ahead of Mozambique on six points.

The 12-team competition continues until 27 September, with the group winners and the best runner-up advancing to the semi-finals. The two finalists will qualify for the 2027 CAF Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana. Shahid Naobeb was named Player of the Match.

Namibia will play their semi-final on Friday, 25 September, at 19:00 at ABB 1 Stadium.
