Walvis Bay continues to welcome international visitors, with a delegation from the Brazilian Navy, accompanied by Namibian Navy officials, paying a courtesy visit to Mayor Cllr Johannes Shimbilinga.

The visit highlighted the friendly relations between Namibia and Brazil, with the mayor welcoming the delegation and expressing his appreciation for the ties between the two countries. Walvis Bay plays an important role in Namibia’s maritime activities, making relations and engagements involving naval delegations relevant to the town. Shimbilinga reaffirmed the municipality’s commitment to maintaining good relations and assured the delegation of a warm welcome whenever they visit Walvis Bay.

The meeting also included an exchange of gifts between the mayor and the delegation as a gesture of friendship and mutual respect. While the visit was a courtesy call, it provided an opportunity to strengthen relations between the two countries in a town where the harbour and maritime sector form an important part of local life.
