Arandis Primary School Prepares to Celebrate 50 Years
Arandis primary

Arandis Primary School will celebrate its 50th anniversary from 1 to 4 April 2027, with a four-day programme planned to bring together former learners, educators, parents and the wider community to mark five decades of education.

Established in 1977, the school will celebrate its golden jubilee under the theme “50 Years of Building Our Youth, Creating Foundations and Shaping a Sustainable Future.” Principal Goamus M.N.D. said the milestone would provide an opportunity to reflect on the school’s history, recognise the contributions of former and current staff members, and reconnect with alumni who have been part of its journey.

The anniversary preparations were officially launched on 9 September 2026, when the school’s patron, Heinrich Mihe Gaomab II, unveiled a commemorative billboard marking the occasion. The unveiling marked the beginning of activities aimed at building awareness and momentum towards the celebrations. According to Goamus, the anniversary is an opportunity to honour the people who have helped shape the school and strengthen its ties with the wider community. Over the past five decades, Arandis Primary School has played a role in educating children and laying the foundation for their future.

The anniversary will provide an opportunity to celebrate the school’s achievements and preserve its history for generations to come. The anniversary programme will run from 1 to 4 April 2027 and will feature an official opening, a gala dinner, sports and traditional games, as well as a church service and gospel show. The activities are intended to bring together former learners, educators, parents, stakeholders and community members to celebrate the school’s legacy. The celebrations will also offer former classmates and teachers an opportunity to reconnect, share memories and reflect on the role the school has played in their lives.

The school is calling on former learners and staff members to reconnect and take an active role in the anniversary celebrations. Goamus encouraged alumni and former educators to share their experiences, contribute to the celebrations and help preserve the school’s history. Their memories and contributions could help document the school’s journey over five decades, recognising the people and experiences that have shaped its development.

The school is also inviting stakeholders and well-wishers to participate in making the anniversary a memorable occasion. Former learners and educators are encouraged to come forward, reconnect with the school and become part of the preparations for the celebrations.

Former learners, former staff members, stakeholders and members of the public who wish to participate in the anniversary celebrations can contact Arandis Primary School via email at arandisps@gmail.com.
